Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 August 2026

This policy describes what Datacenter Plot collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. Datacenter Plot is operated by Thomas Ford.

It describes the software as it is built. If you find something here that does not match what the site does, write to me@tomfordweb.net and we will fix one or the other.

What we collect

Everything this site holds about you, in full:

  • Corrections and additions. Your name and email address if you give them, the message you write, and any link you attach as evidence. Collected to check what you tell us against the record and reply to you about it. No retention period has been set for this yet, so treat it as kept indefinitely until this policy says otherwise.
  • Messages through the contact form. Your name, email address and the message you write. Collected to answer you. No retention period has been set for this yet, so treat it as kept indefinitely until this policy says otherwise.
  • Mail we send you. The address we sent to, the subject line, and any delivery error. Collected to prove a message was sent and work out why one did not arrive. Kept in a log shared by every site we run. No retention period has been set for this yet, so treat it as kept indefinitely until this policy says otherwise.

Analytics and error reporting

We measure traffic with Umami to see which pages people read and whether anything is broken.

It sets no cookies, assigns you no identifier that follows you between sites, and reports in aggregate rather than per person.

When something breaks, an error report goes to Sentry. It receives the error itself, the page it happened on, and your browser version.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies.

Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. These companies receive some of it because the site cannot do its job otherwise:

  • Resend. Receives your email address and the contents of the message, in order to deliver it.
  • Sentry. Receives the error itself, the page it happened on, and your browser version.

Machine-generated content

The the written overview sections on a facility page, which are drafted from the records we hold and reviewed before publication on this site are produced with the help of a large language model working from published listing data, and are not written by hand.

Nobody at this site has used, tested, handled or owned the products written about. Nothing here is a review, an endorsement or an account of anyone’s experience, and where a customer rating appears it belongs to the retailer’s own customers and is attributed to them.

Machine-generated text can be wrong. Check anything that matters against the manufacturer before you rely on it.

How long we keep it

Each category above carries its own retention period. Where one says a period has not been set, that is a statement of fact rather than a placeholder, and it will be replaced with a period rather than left to stand.

Today that applies to: corrections and additions, messages through the contact form and mail we send you.

What you can ask us to do

Write to me@tomfordweb.net and we will act on any of the following. We will answer within 45 days, and we will not charge you or make the site worse for you because you asked.

If you are in the EU or the UK, these are your rights under the GDPR. If you are in California, they are your rights under the CCPA. We extend the same list to everyone else rather than asking where you live.

  • Access. A copy of everything we hold about you.
  • Correction. Fix anything that is wrong.
  • Deletion. Delete it, except where we are legally required to keep a record, such as a completed transaction.
  • Portability. A machine-readable copy you can take elsewhere.
  • Opt out of sale or sharing. Nothing to opt out of. We do not sell or share personal data, and never have.
  • Withdraw consent. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it, and that does not undo what was lawful beforehand.

Children

This site is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from one. If you believe a child has given us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

The date at the top changes whenever the meaning of this policy does. Where a change materially affects what we collect or who receives it, we will say so on the site rather than relying on you to re-read this page. This version is dated 17 August 2026.
